OUR HISTORY
All Nation Tabernacle Church of God in Christ was founded in June of 1940, the first service held was in a tent. Founding Pastor, Dr. Theodore Taylor Rose, had a vision to build a church. In 1944, he held the first rally to begin to build the church which was completed in 1947.
All Nation Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Rose, continued to flourish and grow in the following years. The church became a vibrant community of believers, offering spiritual guidance, support, and fellowship to its members. Pastor Rose's teachings were inspired and full of compassion, and he quickly became a beloved figure in the community.
Throughout his tenure, Pastor Rose served in various capacities both in the church and community. From 1958 to 1962 he served on the Sangamon County Board of Supervisors, and later served as chairman of the county Human Relations Committee. He was invited to testify in Washington, D.C., before a congressional commission on the 1964 civil rights legislation. He received his Doctor of Divinity degree from Trinity Hall in 1970 and served as president of the Springfield Ministerial Alliance from 1973 to 1975.
In 1984 he was installed as the first Bishop of the Central Illinois Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ. Bishop Rose remained committed to the mission of All Nation Tabernacle Church, which was to provide a haven for all those seeking to worship God and receive His word. He was an advocate of social justice and encouraged his congregation to be active in helping those in need. He also placed a strong emphasis on education and encouraged members to continue their studies and pursue their goals.
As a result of Pastor Rose's leadership and the dedication of the members, All Nation Tabernacle Church of God in Christ has become a beacon of hope and a pillar of the community. It continues to thrive and serve as a testament to the power of faith, love, and hard work.
Under the leadership of Superintendent Paul W. Davis, who was appointed to pastor Greater All Nation Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in 2001, the church has continued to flourish and expand its impact. Known for his compassionate leadership, Superintendent Davis has dedicated himself to nurturing the spiritual growth of the congregation, fostering community engagement, and providing pastoral care. His sermons are renowned for their depth and relevance, addressing the diverse needs of the community. Beyond his pastoral duties, Superintendent Davis has been instrumental in various outreach programs and community initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. With his guidance, Greater All Nation Tabernacle Church of God in Christ has continued to be a beacon of hope and a pillar of the community, carrying on the legacy of its founding pastor, Dr. Theodore Taylor Rose.
